Sammy is the daughter of Phil and Regina Roberts of Kissimmee, Florida.
Sammy’s passion for rodeo began at a young age, when she listened to the stories her grandfather told about being a competitive bull rider. His enthusiasm about the sport of rodeo was contagious to Sammy and upon entering high school, she joined the Florida High School Rodeo Association. During her four years, she participated in barrel racing and pole bending.
After graduating from high school, Sammy pursued team roping, ranch sorting, and rodeo queen pageants. In 2008, she won the title of Miss Silver Spurs and has continued to serve on the pageant committee each year. In 2011 she won Miss Rodeo Florida as well as awards for Speech, Horsemanship, Appearance, and Photogenic.
Today, she is a member of the Florida Barrel Racing Association, American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, American Angus Association, and the Florida Cattlemen’s Association.
Sammy is involved in several community and charitable events including the Basket Brigade with Gatorland, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Central Florida Relay for Life, and the Good Neighbor Fund.
In addition to rodeo and riding horses, Sammy’s extracurricular activities include four wheeling, skeet shooting, wakeboarding, hog hunting, scuba diving, running, dancing, shopping with her Mom and fishing on and off shore with her dad. Whether she’s outside working cows or inside as the reigning Roberts champion of Wii Bowling & Boxing, she always has fun and lives life to the fullest.
Sammy is attending Valencia Community College where she is pursuing a degree in PR and Communications with a minor in Computer Science.
“I have been preparing my whole life for this moment! I have grown up emulating the women who have worn the Miss Rodeo Florida crown, embracing my family and my western heritage lifestyle. As I travel, I will hold strong to my faith, integrity and high moral values, always hoping to be a great role model for younger generations.” ~ Sammy Roberts ~
